Controller / Assistant Corporate Controller is to lead the organization’s financial management policies, including financial accounting and reporting, decision support and analysis, human resource functions, payroll and internal controls. The Assistant Controller assists the CFO in providing the organization with effective and timely financial reporting and analysis. The position requires a level of independent thinking and analytical skills to allow for a high level of problem-solving capabilities, as well as the ability to research the treatment for accounting matters. This position reports to the CFO and will ultimately supervise a staff/accounts receivable accountant.
Job Requirements

  1. Bachelor’s degree in accounting
  2. 5 + years of high-level, relevant work experience
  3. Current Certified Public Accountant license a plus
  4. HR experience a plus
  5. Advanced level of Microsoft Excel
  6. Flexibility to handle changing priorities and deadlines effectively.
  7. High comfort level to thrive and excel in a fast-paced environment.
  8. Proven problem-solving skills with the ability to address challenges creatively.
  9. Willingness to take initiative and contribute to a positive work culture.
  10. Ability to execute and manage daily transactional processes.

Job Responsibilities

  1. Financial Management/Operations and Investment Processes
  2. Oversite and timely production of:
    1. Accounts payable
    2. Accounts receivable (incl. merchant statement reconciliations).
    3. Payroll
    4. Month-end close accounting reconciliations
    5. Assist with the production of financial reporting package

 

  1. Work as needed with external partners including third-party vendors and consultants.
  2. Assist with HR functions including all processes to:
    1. Direct hiring process, including on-boarding new staff and managing employee exit strategies.
    2. Manage Employee benefits and training programs.
    3. Oversee and update policies and procedures.
