POSITION SCOPE AND ORGANIZATIONAL IMPACT
Our Fleet Safety Coordinator will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining comprehensive fleet safety programs to ensure compliance with company and regulatory standards and promote a culture of fleet safety within our organization. The role requires travel, up to 20% of the time, to various locations around the country to deliver fleet safety training programs and to conduct site audits.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of the fleet safety programs for both a DOT-regulated and a non-regulated fleet of vehicles
Collaborates with HR, asset management, and supervision to ensure compliance with driver qualification file management including driver applications, MVR monitoring, training, DOT physicals, and drug & alcohol testing
Conduct thorough assessments to identify gaps in the fleet safety process and devise proactive solutions
Deliver engaging and effective fleet safety training sessions to employees at various locations, to ensure compliance with Company and relevant regulatory standards
Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the fleet safety program through assessments, feedback, and performance metrics and identify & report areas of improvement
Provide guidance and support to the field for fleet safety driver needs
Responsible for all Federal, State, and Local operational fleet safety regulatory filings
Utilize advanced analytics to identify and analyze trends and patterns in fleet safety data and make data-driven recommendations to improve fleet safety performance
Communicates regularly with both field and senior management to provide guidance and updates on fleet safety
Develop and maintain relationships with external partners, such as insurance providers, regulatory agencies, and fleet safety service providers to ensure ongoing compliance with fleet safety regulations and Company Policy
Demonstrates depth of knowledge & competency with applicable fleet safety regulations and industry standards
Stay current with industry trends, regulations, and best practices in fleet safety compliance and incorporate them into fleet safety program strategies and initiatives
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, along with proficient computer skills utilizing Microsoft Office suite programs, and familiarity with fleet safety analytics such as Geotab, SharePoint, and Intelex
Perform other duties as assigned
EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE
3 to 5 years of fleet safety management experience
BS in Safety Management, Transportation, Logistics, Business Administration, or similar
Ability to travel, up to 20% of the time, to various locations throughout the US to deliver training programs and to conduct file audits
