Sr Director/VP Marketing

The Vice President of Marketing is accountable for planning, directing, and overseeing the implementation and direction of effective marketing programs that support and align to Business Objectives. The ideal candidate will have experience managing people and getting a team to function as one unified team. The ideal candidate will also have practical, working experience in brand development, positioning, and messaging. The candidate will also develop and oversee the execution of digital activity including email, paid and organic advertising, and e-commerce activity.

Role & Responsibilities
Oversees marketing communications including solutions positioning, branding, advertising, articles, trade shows, seminar and event collateral materials, website design and content either directly or on an outsourced basis.
• Oversees product marketing including competitive analysis, product launch management, sales tools, competitive analysis and general sales support.
• Collaborates with key partners cross-functionally to lead initiatives supporting existing business and new initiatives and product launches.
• Develops and executes marketing plans to increase brand awareness.
• Provides input on developing operational systems and processes that ensure consistent, efficient, measurable, and reproducible results.
• Leads in the expansion of our digital marketing footprint, including paid and organic digital media, email marketing, blog and content marketing, lead generation, lead tracking and management.
• Ensures effective control of marketing results through the development of metrics and dashboards that track, measure, and analyze the performance of marketing initiatives.
• Defines clear roles and responsibilities for the team, sets performance expectations, defines KPIs, and provides guidance and mentorship to team members.
• Provides strategic and technical leadership to the marketing team, ensuring the successful execution of projects and the achievement of business objectives.
• Other Duties as assigned.

Education and Formal Training:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing required. Master’s preferred.

Experience:
• 10+ years experience directing marketing activities for an organization with similar functions (communications, brochure & catalog development, digital advertising, social media, ecommerce, tradeshow, brand development and product launches).
• Working Knowledge of Marketo (or equivalent), Salesforce, Sprout and Wrike.
• Practical experience implementing marketing campaigns, measuring effectiveness and reporting results.
• Collaborative worker who can work across marketing functions to drive go-to-market strategies.
• Experience in managing the activities, schedules, and workloads of staff, providing career development, coaching, technical guidance, counseling, and performance management as direct reports. Ability to assess staff abilities and training needs and to address performance issues.
• Ability to manage up to the Senior Executive team.
• Ability to plan, execute and drive improvement on a continued basis.
• Lead by example, evaluating departmental workload requirements and staying late when needed.
• Demonstrate Enthusiasm – be a positive and encouraging presence in the office.
